Roy [Amedessa]
Shell [Gideon]
Christie [Sarafina]
This RPG takes place approximately 300 years after the reign of Roald II and Shinkokami. Since then, Tortall has remained the most prominent power in the Eastern Lands and alongside with its Yamani allies, has advanced in technology and begun to explore the distant shores of the Western Reaches.
In 703 HE, King Artagan II––the last living male descendant and heir of the Conté line––died and the throne was thrust upon the head of his eldest daughter, Amedessa Elestra. Although not shy of female figures taking charge, not all in Tortall are comfortable with being ruled by a queen and some are concerned about to whom the Crown will go to next. The nobility in Corus are especially worried about the condition of Tortall as a state, under and after Amedessa's reign. If she fails to produce or choose an adequate heir, Tortall could endure a bloody revolution like that of its neighbour, Tusaine, in which the royalty and aristocracy were mercilessly executed by the common people.
While Corus basks in the concerns of the "Old World", Port Caynn is becoming well acquainted with the "New". It is a city brimming with diversity, activity and violence, welcoming pirates and foreigners, traders and gangsters, the Rogue and the Shang.

CONTÉ tortall
Families that have been overthrown or who are part of "royal families" under imperial rule (i.e. Sarain) won't have trees drawn up. It's pretty unnecessary, I think.
If there's an actor or actress in one of the family trees that you want to use for your character, go ahead and use them. I just thought that having a visual would help.
Aside from Roald, Shinkokami, the name Ilianat and the name Balitang, the material here is completely noncanon. Take note that for the purposes of this board and its plot, Roald and Shinkokami had a son (Artagan) instead of their canon child, Leinkokami.

Aorron and his son Jasson IV are commonly regarded by Tortallans as good kings. Both Contés did much to increase Tortall's strength and standing in Eastern Lands, although Aorron is criticised for have unwisely spending money and Jasson was known for his ill temper.
Artagan II was popular amongst Tortallans in his younger years as he was both handsome and charismatic. He inherited his father's strategic mind and in his early years as king followed Jasson's diplomatic and trading examples. However, as he aged, he became more like his grandfather. After the death of his wife, Artagan's spending habits and his actions as king became increasingly more careless.
