"At least you have a chance in love, Selene––I am giving you this chance," Amedessa continued to urge her sister, her words both firm and gentle in the nudging. By now, she was standing once more, and now stooping forward slightly to speak with her sister still seated on the ground. "Not many women can say the same, and such women have no more or no less right than you to wear a white dress on your wedding day. For all they speak ill of you, they would not hear a word against their 'seamless' reputations."
Her speech ended with a wavering sort of tone, as if something were very near to escaping her lips. However, she did not add anything to her words, and smoothed out the would-be pause with a sisterly smile. "At least give these courtiers a chance, not all of them are like your fickle lovers. Some of them are sensible and seek someone whom they can both protect and counsel and turn to with their affections. Perhaps not the younger ones, but certainly a few of the bachellors not picked off by matchmaking mothers. Their sap has run its course, they aren't subject to the follies and passing fancies of youth. I think you would do well with such a man."

" I still challange you to find such a man and then maybe I can believe that. Until then.. I will be my usual pessimistic self beacuse its what I do best, is is not?" Selene replied, standing up rather ungracefully, because she felt herself sliding into another of her down moods and wanted to go find something to drink, preferablly with alcohol to ease her nerves, or so she told herself.
" Don't take it personal Ame, its not your fault I am a failure and the black sheep of the family. Its just how I am and you and Sara don;t need to trouble yourselves over me. I'm an adult.. I'll manage."
