What are you guys listening too...what are your top recommendations ....I'm always after new/interesting music.
Your Love Alone Is Not Enough - The Manic Street Preachers, closely followed by The Boy With the Thorn in his Side by the Smiths...such good lyrics!

I'm a huge fan of www.pandora.com to find new music. You basically type in the name of a band you like and it will play songs with similar qualities. You can give songs a thumbs up if you like it so it will play more often, or a thumbs down and it will never play again. You can create multiple stations, too, based on what interest you prefer. Best of all, it's free. I'm listening to a lot of Fall Out Boy (what's new..), The Academy Is, Cobra Starship, Three Days Grace and a little bit of lighter rock - Spitalfield, Amber Pacific, etc. It's kind of a free for all with me at the moment. I actually have a huge list of songs saved on my computer at home (I'm at work now) so I'll post that when I get a chance.

Yeah I use pandora and last.fm a bit but I find last fm slows up my computer if I'm running it.
I'm pretty ecclectic in my musical tastes so I listen to a bit of everything...my playlist on random is pretty curious...punk and rock alongside showtunes and Mozart. heh.

Hmm.. I rather like a lot of eighties era music, though groups like the Beegees and such fall under my personal tastes as well. My fiancé is from Spain so I hear some multi-cultural music as well.

Oh my. Well, I have quite the list here: Flogging Molly, Pete Murray, Die Ärzte, Bo Kaspers Orkester, Röyksopp, Lars Winnerbäck, Die Toten Hosen, Clueso, Wir Sind Helden, Mutabor and basically anything country. I also have a fetish for movie soundtracks...

Floggy Molly are wicked although they can be a bit Poges-lite at time.
Royksopp are pretty popular over here in the UK.
Ah de Toten Hosen, a friend of mine used to hang around with them. They win points with me just on the basis of their amusing name alone. Their Live 8 performance was pretty good though.

Ooh, a lot of Swedish music? That's curious.
I listen to very mixed things right now, but I think my favourites are the soundtracks to Chess, Jekyll & Hyde, Rent, and Kristina från Duvemåla. I also like Scissor Sisters and The Sounds, but not as passionately as I love the musicals! <3

Yeah! I adore BKO, and Lars took a little bit to grow on me. I don't even remember how I found them, but I'm glad I did!
I have a few other artists I didn't think of last night, like: Tin Hat Trio, Fettes Brot, Franz Ferdinand, Madeleine Peyroux, some Rufus Wainwright and the occassional Sportfreunde song.
Soundtrackwise, I adore John Williams and James Horner, Hans Zimmer is starting to get a little repetitive, Dario Marianelli is becoming a favourite; my liking toward Danny Elfman tends to depend on the soundtrack––the same goes for James Newton Howard. My current soundtrack favourites are: Pride & Prejudice, Kingdom of Heaven, Master & Commander, Casanova, Memoirs of a Geisha and Sweet Land.

OOH. I just discovered this Spanish band... Techarí. They're pretty amazing.
I'm also developing a fondness for Kent, which is another Scandinavian band.

why oh why are 30 Seconds to Mars my musical achilles heel? I can't help but like them. I blame Jared Leto...luring me in with his eyeliner and pretty face.

I've taken a recent liking to Ray Lamontagne... never heard of your band you just mentioned though, Ruth. Ah! Jared Leto. He got axed in the face in American Psycho... I just thought he was an actor. So he's a musician as well? (then again, what celebrity isn't these days... lol)
