Selene decided that she really needed to talk to her sister about things. She did not like the idea of being a burden and was ready to do what she must to bring her own honor back and to make her sisters proud to count her as part of the family. She had been looking for her sister for an hour now and stopped to sit for a moment while pondering how to start this conversation. This was rare that Selene sought out her elder sibling but change for the better could always be a good thing.

Post by Queen Amedessa of Conté on Oct 28, 2007 1:28:11 GMT -5
A brief session of court had been called that morning, and consequently took up a good deal of Amedessa's time. Since its dismissal, Amedessa had remained in the Royal Hall, silently sifting through the many leafs and pamphlets that had been laid before her by the Lord Provost earlier. They were no grave concern he had felt, but had thought she may have liked to have a look at them. Each sheet she picked up she observed deeply and contemplatively, making her appear both pensive about and engrossed in what she saw.
Perhaps they were truly as inconsequential as the Lord Provost claimed, but even so they instilled a slight discomfort for the queen. What she viewed and read were surely the word and philosophy travelled westward from Tusaine, elevated and eloquent in their politic, speaking promises of a simple, honest Republican life. Yet despite how unsettled she was by their views, Amedessa could not help but admire their willingness to embrace so radical an ideal. Most of Tortall was not prepared for such a monumental change in government. Even Tusaine's Ambassador believed Tortall was still too deeply infatuated with its petty aristocracy to change. At this recollection, Amedessa felt a smile break the tight, pensive constraints of her previous expression. Here was proof that some, if not many, Tortallans were determined to plant the seeds of change.
Sighing in resolution, Amedessa collected the papers into as neat a pile as she could manage. Perhaps she was not destined to be the hapless monarch beheaded in Abelin Square, but if these pamphlets held any promise for the future some successor of hers would certainly be subject to the whim of the people. "Let us hope they will not be as much of a bloodthirsty lot as found in Tusaine," she murmured to herself with a snort as she rose from her seat. After exiting the Royal Hall, she saw to it that the pamphlets were dispatched to François Valmont instead of the Lord Provost. To the Lord Provost she sent a request to monitor anti-monarchy publications and ovations and to keep her informed.
Heading for the grand stairwell with the intentions of retreating to her chambers for a small lunch, Amedessa was visibly surprised to find her sister lingering there. "Selene, good morning," she greeted, not disguising the mild surprise in her tone. "I thought you would have left already for Port Caynn. You are still spending the week with Sara, aren't you?"

Selene was still a bit jumpy and nearly toppled over when her sister appeared. Well now she could start this conversation, as involved as it might be. " Ahh Amedessa, I was wanting to speak with you on something before I left for Sara... its about my own future... I had some time to really think about what kind of life I have and what I am doing to you and poor Sara and I want to change it so that I am not the black sheep anymore.. meaning I need your help in the finding of a husband to start. Secondly, I want something more to occupy my time.. something that would greatly aid you."
Selene said, pausing a moment to take a breath and to let Amedessa see that she was indeed very serious. It was hopefully the start of a new beginning for her and maybe her sister could moreso use a helping hand, rather than picking up pieces of Selene's shattered heart.
