The wolf moves quietly through the abandoned cities. His black nose to the ground, leading his grey body on what would look like a wild goose chase. Though the wolf now inhabits the cities of New York, it was once home to hundreds of thousands of humans. Nearly half a century ago the humans were destroyed. They destroyed themselves with robots and remote computer guided nuclear weapons. The United States and Russia, in a cold war for years upon years, finally broke and struck out. Who won? No one. They wiped eachother out with their weapons. Australia, Africa, Japan, England, South America... All wiped out. Every continent was destroyed. The cities still stand, the buildings tall.

The wolves have moved in, unknowingly creating packs along the original city lines. They fight and hunt like wild wolves. Some of them, though, have ingested animals that were genetically altered. The effects of the genetically altered meals are still unknown. Those who have been affected were exiled, they have disappeared for now. Perhaps someday they will return with a vengence.
