xD Oh dear.
Well, she did take lots of names from other places. Like the Shang was a dynasty in real life, and in her books they were a band of warriors. She seems to be fond of that sort of thing.

I think a lot of authors probably do that, though. Some are just sneakier...

JK Rowling used lots of Latin words as her spells. Like 'impedimenta' and 'enervate'.

Yeah, a lot of authors tend to fall back on Latin if they can't think of anything else.

Well, it seems to work pretty well. Most of the time JK Rowling seemed to have looked up the word's definition before she used it.
Like 'impedimenta' in Latin means 'hinder or slow down', and the spell stops people in their tracks or slows them down.
