Gender: Female
Age: 21
City: Port Caynn
Status: Princess
Personality
Upon first glance, anyone can agree that Sarafina Anaïs is the ideal image of a typical Conté. Her head carried high with an air of confidence and her entire being ebbing with charisma. Her unnaturally graceful movements add to her enigmatic presence and her piercing eyes reflecting the sharp, witty intellect behind her taciturn façade. Beautiful, coy and headstrong, men and women everywhere call and often know her as the Lioness of the Conté household.
Unlike her twin sister Selene, Sara is well-known for her temper and sharp tongue. She tends to stubbornly hold her beliefs and becomes rebellious, often seen in hot debates with Her Highness, her sister, Queen Amedessa. And it doesn’t help when her well-rounded academic knowledge and quick thinking adds extra fire into her argument which adds to her reputation as a “lioness”.
Sara has a rather scholarly nature, making her somewhat of a bookworm and preferring quiet activities such as reading and gardening. However, she does take pleasure in cooking, horseback riding and taking walks. A good conversation is something she could never turn down as well as a challenging riddle. Strangely enough, one would assume that with her characteristics, Sara would prefer to avoid large social settings, nonetheless, dressing up and attending masquerades are a secret pastime. She is and admits guilty of her enjoyment of flaunting her wit and confounding many of the party attendees with her alluring secrecy.
Yet it is important to remember that Sara never has the intention of falsely fooling anyone about her true nature as she tries hard to remain true to herself and to her family. Though she may seem aloof and perhaps reserved, Sara is a very generous person with a warm heart. This open amiability is typically only seen by her family members or close friends.
Personality Flaw:
Her lack of patience seems to be the most obvious flaw that Sara has. She tends to overdramatize issues when frustrated and often ends a difficult argument with a quick insult, declaring that she is done arguing and a slam of a door. Her stubbornness and quick temperament does not exactly mesh too well together, causing her to be easily aggravated when things don’t go her way.
Appearance
Being the fraternal twin of Selene, Sara is the oddball of her family. With her luxuriously dark hair and light steel-blue eyes make her somewhat exotically different. There have been rumors that Sara was an illegitimate child, but they were all squashed being that she and Selene looked exactly the same except for the difference in hair and eye color. Out of her three sisters, Sara is the only one who resembles the most of her mother, which explains the strange relationship between her and her late father. Her high cheekbones, full lips and slender figure seem to be the envy of most women as they attract much male attention. However, it’s a shame that she’s married and loyal to her husband.
Appearance Flaw: Her nostrils a little larger than the average nose, particularly the proud nose the Conté’s are well known for. They’re more noticeable when she is furious because they tend to flare.
History
Sara and Selene, six minutes apart, were one of the few sets of fraternal twins in the Conté family. Sara’s parents, King Artagan II and Queen Elestra, were rather disappointed with their births which later resulted in the suicide of Queen Elestra. This was a very heavy blow for both Sara and Selene which resulted in a series of mental trauma. Most of her life, Sara carried the disappointment of her family, of not being the boy that her parents wanted her to be. Often times as a young child, she would blame herself for her mother’s death and her father’s self-indulgent ways. Because she looked so alike and sometimes acted just like her mother, her father, the King, would often favor her and push her away. This kind of extreme relationship led Sara to seclude herself into books, often catching herself reading and wishing to be just like the wonderful novel heroes who were simply loved and cherished by everyone. In times like these, she would refuse to talk to anyone else other than her sisters, particularly Selene (since they were twins after all). It was as if she was desperate to keep her family as close to her as possible in fear of losing them, just like how she lost her mother.
Soon enough, Sara and her sister Selene were sent to the Convent where they began to learn the proper etiquettes and mannerisms of a proper lady. For the longest time, Sara had diligently followed the rules and strived to be the perfect lady until she began to wonder why napkins had to be folded in such a way, why a woman must be demure and unable to speak her mind…such feminist views began to conflict inside her mind as she began to grow up. Sara began to question motives, asking who, why and how such things needed to be, her curiosity was insatiable and was the curse of every proctor and tutor she had. She continued to satiate her curiosity through books and lectures as she grew older and began to attend the Royal University, her academic records far better than most boys. Philosophies, history, literature, arithmetic, and the sciences, it was as if Sara knew it all. But that was all she relied on, her academic knowledge. She began to learn the ways of medicine (soon to later become patron of several infirmaries in Port Caynn) and the uses of different plants to improve human health. She was so engrossed in her studies that she began to forget about her family and the few close friends that she had.
It wasn’t until a young man, X of X, had caught her off guard when he abruptly invited her to a dance. He began to show her that there was a life outside of historical politics and medicine. There were several times when Sara found herself head-butting with X with the silliest, the most serious and the strangest issues. It was then she realized that she may have met her match in wit and intelligence and found herself falling in a love-hate relationship. She hated how there were moments when X was right, but she loved the way he managed to cleverly persuade her with a few words or sometimes a rare kiss. She loved him, though she hardly admitted it, she often found his quiet ways peculiar compared to his random exuberant outbursts. He was a little strange, but was respected which ended up keeping her interested. After graduating from the Royal University, Sara found herself married off to X in a long white gown and swept to the sea ports of Port Caynn.
Being a part of the Royal Conté bloodline, Sara possesses the Gift, her color being more of a deep oceanic blue rather than sapphire. She, like her fraternal twin Selene, is only limited to using her Gift for the littlest things.
