nooo...Elizabeth Swann so needed to be put in a hole on a beach somewhere in AWE and left at the mercy of the tides....she ruined that film...ruined it I say!

ha. Yes. Like that parlay scene? Just leave her on that sandbar and when the maelstrom whips up... she'll just... float away!

absolutely! I was so disappointed with that film. Why on earth was everyone suddenly in love with Elizabeth? I just have big issues with Keira Knightley, I don't think she's anything like a strong enough actress to carry a fillm like that. the vids are great by the way.....not my kind of music nor pairings that I would touch with a bargepole but there's some great musicality in there...matching clips with moments in the songs.

Exactly! I mean, she was alright in the first film. Come Dead Man's Chest, you're like: "hmm. you're potentially annoying."
I was sad Norrington died. He kind of got the shaft in the third movie. If you're going to put a character through so much effort in the last film, you don't just kill him off: especially if it's not in some noble way, like in an epic battle... like the maelstrom, perhaps...?
Yeah. Well, I suppose I did them because I have friends who are: "Willizabeth!" and other ones that are "Sparrabeth!". It's surprising about how into it some people get. I do remember in the first movie though, that I completely disliked Orlando Bloom's character because he didn't seem to have any strong points or personality about him. So then, I was: "psst, Lizzy, get with Jack over there".
But you don't tell Lizzy to get with Jack when you know she's supposed to be getting married with Will. That's not right. Especially when his character improves and hers doesn't.
lol. I'll stop soon but... WHO WOULD WANT TO SAVE THEIR FATHER THAT THEY HAVEN'T SEEN THEIR ENTIRE LIFE? I suppose this is because I'm still pissed that Bootstrap (spoiler? lol) killed Norrington. I mean. REALLY. Yes, it's noble, but a good thing Will has Jack who wants to stab the heart for him.
Lastly... I think the next video I make will be an ode to Barbossa... because he is my favourite character. He seriously kicks ass. Even though there was a lack of appleage in the third film.

I love Norrington. He was a bit irritating in the first movie, but in a tolerable way, then he was hot in the second movie when he lost the wig and grew some facial hair, and then he was awesome in the third.
And that was my fangirl moment for the day.

Hey, fangirling over Jack Davenport is more than welcome. I run a Jack Davenport community on live journal and there has been much bemoaning and theorising over Norrington on there.
I think they completely f***ed up his character but then I think the third film was really REALLY badly written. If your characters have to constantly announce what they're doing and why then you've gone badly wrong.
I was gutted that they did all that work on Norrington just to turn him back in to a company man who was mooning over Elizabeth once again - he was quite clearly over her in Dead Man's Chest!
Jack Davenport is such a great actor as well, it was pretty criminal that he was so under used, much like a lot of the other brilliant actors in the cast who got shafted to make room for more Keira.
Heh, you can see I feel pretty passionate about it too, but that's because I'm a big time Jack Davenport fan, have been for many years now.

haha. My RPG is going to turn into a Jack Davenport fangirl haven. When advertising, we should say: "Oh, and, we resurrected Norrington".
Well. Okay. I have a tentative idea for a Norrington video, so maybe I'll follow through with it. And he won't die in it. Promise.

At least he got a somewhat heroic death. If they had offed him in some dumb way, I don't know what I would have done...

Well, yes, I was proud of them for sticking true to his character in not accepting Davey/Davy's offer. This is maybe me being supercilious, but I think that he should've had a "more heroic" death than getting skewered by a delirious Bootstrap. Not to mention he did not deserve the bitchy treatment he received from Elizabeth. I mean, really, that's not fair.

Yes, well, being skewered by Bootstrap wasn't great, but it was better than having him fall off the boat and drown or something silly like that. I wouldn't put it past the writers to do that.

True, true. That would have been awful. I do say that his being able to stab Davey/Davy through the shoulder while dying was pretty impressive.
lol. I love how we're all discussing Norrington.

Well, he's sweet and deserves to be discussed.

I thought his death was pretty crap really...not heroic especially and all for miss pouty pants. I get all excitable when people are Jack Davenport fans. I've been running fan stuff for him for quite a long time and I was lucky enough to see him on stage a few years ago and to see him film an episode of Coupling (which is so SO funny.) It used to be that only a select handful of people knew who he was, but then Pirates came along and rightfully made him a bit of a star! I went to university with his cousin and was in a couple of plays with her and she used to roll her eyes every time someone enthused at her about him. hehe.
