That's pretty cool, Nana. Well, both about seeing him on stage, watching him film and knowing his cousin. Lucky you.
You know... if there's one thing I've been truly upset about, is that Anamaria didn't appear in either Dead Man's Chest or At World's End. wtf? Where did she go? She had excellent character.

Yeah I liked Anamaria as well. I should imagine that as Elizabeth was stepping up as chief girly pirate, they probably thought Anamaria would be overkill. I felt like if ever their was a pairing, she'd have given Jacky boy a run for his money.

haha. We'd definitely know who was wearing in the pants in that pairing...
Yeah, I can see that. Which is sad, because really, Elizabeth's pirateness doesn't compare to Anamaria's. Anamaria was pretty ship-savvy, tough and I think more level-headed–– she wasn't whoring Jack into shackles onto some mast. If anything she was bossing him around... haha.

Yeah, I was very disappointed when Anamaria disappeared. I liked her much better than Elizabeth, and I agree that she would have given Jack a run for his money.

Well what bugged me in At Worlds End was that Elizabeth suddenly became a complete Mary Sue as well, she had super pirate skills and was ace swordswoman and ace shot and could captain a ship....since when precisely?!

Well, I could see Will teaching her to sword fight, but the shooting and captaining is another story.

I know! The sword thing she explained, but how good can a person get in a matter of months? Unless Will was teaching her prior to their engagement? For some reason I vaguely recall Elizabeth having a sword aboard the Interceptor in CotBP... whether she was doing anything useful with it, I can't remember.
But I guess it's all convenient for the filmmakers.
What really bothers me are people who are possessed with the notion that the series isn't over. I personally think they will milk merchandise for what it's worth, but they will leave the films at a trilogy. For the most part, they concluded everyone's stories, leaving a little leeway for the imagination––or a bad sequel. I for one will be very upset if they make another film, because in my eyes... everything's drawn to a close... and there's only so long that a writer can keep his script good before it just wears itself out.

I think she had a rifle in the ship battle between the Black Pearl and the Interceptor, and she was clubbing people with it, but I don't know how much skill that takes...

Was it a rifle? Now I have the urge to look.
*watches a clip* Ah. No, it was someone who was about to sword Elizabeth's brains out and Jack grabs the hilt. Wasn't Lizzy's. So I imagine you're right about the rifle.

I really hope they don't make any more. I'm not sure Johnny Depp would necessary go for it anyway. Plus there was that end of credits scene with Will and Elizabeth 10 years on which kind of has a massive air of finality about it.

... That kid was so cute. I wanted to take him home when he started frolicking in the grass. Or send him to live with Jack so he could become a dashing badass. *silly*
Well, I've heard that Keira and Orlando both refused to sign on for any sequels... and that Johnny agreed to return only if the scripts remained good. But what more could they have to tell? I took Jack going after the Fountain of Youth as his 'happily ever after'. His story, like Will and Elizabeth's, is for the most part finished: he's immortal now and roaming the seas he loves. What more can happen to him?

Well quite...plus I feel the script for AWE kind of over-rides the scripts staying 'good'. It was bloody awfu!

well yeah, because after the ten years the curse is lifted and all so it's a proper happy ending. Anyway, I doubt there is such a thing as a proper happy ending for Jack, because he's happy being a pirate.

I liked most of the characters I just think Keira Knightly and Orlando Bloom are two of the most wooden actors ever and it really shows when they're alongside such brilliant actors as the cast of the Pirates movies.
Will was pretty much reduced to a sideshow act in the end.

I agree that Orlando Bloom is a bad actor, but he's really, really cute.
